Mission Statement
Lazy Bear Weekend, founded in 1995 (the Lazy Bear Fund was officially
founded in 2005), is a not-for-profit organization committed to helping
and supporting a diversity of outreach and educational programs which
benefit our brothers and sisters in the LGBT community. We are
committed to raising much-needed funds for these programs through a
variety of fun, inclusive and spirited events geared towards
celebrating our brotherhood and unity. We challenge ourselves and our
community to take responsibility to help those most in need while
keeping the "fun" in fundraising.
Executive Summary
The Lazy Bear Fund is a San Francisco-based concern which presents a
series of annual events dedicated to raising funds for not-for-profit
organizations which benefit, but not exclusively, the LGBT community.
The Lazy Bear Fund Board of Directors designate annual beneficiaries
based on need, provided that the beneficiary has received 501 (c) (3)
status. While the majority of funds are dispersed to groups located
within the Northern California area, the LBF reserves the right to
recognize and benefit non-profit groups throughout the country.
Our signature event, Lazy Bear Weekend, has been held in Guerneville,
California, since 1995 and attracts attendees from all over world for
an extended weekend of parties, dances, entertainment and friendship.
Other events, including Lazy Bear Holiday and Lazy Bear Cruises,
continue the tradition of infusing social responsibility with fun, fur
and friendship.
